I make ink sketches and watercolors of the places around me—mostly landscapes, small towns, and historic buildings. I’m drawn to everyday scenes with a sense of history and character, and I enjoy capturing them with a simple combination of fountain pen and watercolor.

I grew up in South Africa, with a brief stop in Nebraska, and have been grateful to call Roanoke, Virginia home for more than 25 years. The Roanoke region is a truly beautiful place, set between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany ranges of the Appalachian Mountains, and close to places like the New River, the Appalachian Trail, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

It’s in this setting that I have the joy of living with my family and being part of a wonderful church and community.
